My students love reading stories as a whole group as well as independently. I also have a number of students who come to me when they need to settle themselves from too much stimulation in the classroom and find comfort in the reading corner. But, we are running out of space as the number of students I services continues to increase! We need a larger rug for our reading corner! We love reading on the carpet together and independently but the current rug I have is too small for all of my current students to fit!
Your generous donation to our project will help improve our classroom by helping to build a more comfortable reading corner for all of my students to enjoy. My reading corner is available to my students to use during whole group story time, independent reading choice, centers, and as a bonus activity after their work has been completed. I also keep my reading corner open to all students in the building as a quiet space to use to help calm down or to be able to take break if needed and required.
