I am a Reading Recovery teacher/literacy coach who is providing live lessons to first grade students who need extra support in a short term intervention. During our distant learning time together we will read and write together through computer screens. The materials I am putting together will allow students to develop their letter knowledge through reading and writing and will allow us to "write" together through our screens. Through our daily lessons together, we read familiar books together, assess their new book from the previous lesson, learn about letters and how words work, construct and write a story together and read a new book. The materials needed for our lessons are difficult for my students to purchase for themselves and are critical for them. As they develop as readers and writers, your funding will help them reach the average and beyond in their classrooms.
