We need a lot of supplies at school to help our diverse group of students learn! This project will give our classroom basic (pencils, markers, colored pencils, scissors, headphones, personal white boards, new and relevant books, math and reading games and manipulatives, etc.) and not-so-basic (flexible seating options, prize bin prizes, Scholastic News Magazine subscription, etc.) supplies. These supplies will help our diverse group of students learn in different and engaging ways. I am most excited about supplying my students with new and relevant books for our classroom library - books are expensive! - and a subscription to Scholastic News Magazine. Kids LOVE new books, and it is important to give them access to books that are relevant and relatable. A Scholastic News Magazine subscription will give students access to nonfiction Science and Social Studies texts about current events. This subscription will give students the physical text, digital text (with a text-to-speech audio option) Spanish translations, etc. so every student can access the information!
