I chose Yoga Mats because Yoga is not traditionally practiced in schools. So, Yoga mats are not apart of the supplies offered in schools. The Yoga mats will be used during our Social and Emotional Learning experience, called "Crew", for Yoga and Mediation. In practicing Yoga and Mediation in school, our goal is to decrease challenging behaviors and increase confidence, concentration and patience within students. In efforts to help students self-regulate their emotions, I envision a room equipped with all the necessary tools to bring students to a place of Peace. I chose an Aromatherapy Diffuser and Essential Oils to enhance the peaceful ambiance of the room. Research shows that essential oils help to improve the Aura (energy field) of individuals that consume them.
