We need computers desperately! My students need functional laptops in order to use programs designed to teach computer literacy and help them become better mathematicians. These programs push students to become better problem solvers, have virtual manipulatives to help students visualize the problem, and are used for stem projects. Many of these applications are especially helpful for students that are behind, since they give individualized math instruction based on a student's needs.I have seen huge improvements in students conceptual and procedural understanding of math through these programs. Most of my students don't have computers at home, so computer time in the classroom is critical!
