Students feel empowered by having some choice and control in their classroom environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they want to work each day, as well as who they prefer to work with. Constantly, we, as educators, look for ways to motivate and actively engage our students as we prepare them for college and careers. Kids need to move, and flexible seating (Wobble chairs, floor seats and stools ) allows them to rock, bounce, lean, wobble, or stand! Portable writing tables and bean bag chairs grant them opportunities to work comfortably and cooperatively wherever and with whom they want. Also, it allows them to change their location and partnership fluidly throughout the school day. Outside of our classroom walls, sits a choice-filled world that is fast-paced. Our classrooms should mirror those choices!
