All the students in my class received an iPad to use this year as part of a TechEquity initiative in our district. The students are learning to use their various web based resources as well as different applications that supplement teacher direct instruction beautifully. Having access to stylus pens will allow for us to utilize various note-taking applications and will facilitate our class goal to go paperless by the end of the school year. My students are learning the important role they have in saving the environment and are very conscientious about not wasting unnecessary natural resources. In 5th grade, we are learning about the importance of note-taking and using our notes to produce our own informational writing. Having these stylus pens will facilitate our transfer from paper copies to digital version, as well as using technology to emphasize evidence-based writing!
