My IB Language and Literature classes are expected to do numerous presentations on a wide variety of topics. Two of these presentations are final exams, and a camcorder with tripod will allow me to record and save exemplars for students to model their work. Students will also be able to more easily record their practice presentations to evaluate their effectiveness. Teaching students to evaluate their own work, revise, and improve is so essential in my class. Students must work on their public speaking stills but also on choosing relevant and significant topics. Having a camcorder will be valuable tool to help students be successful in learning these skills.
