Good books make good readers. When I was a first year teacher and I would talk to kids about what they wanted to read, I would often have the names of a book they should read, or a book they might like. By the time we tracked down the book through the library, a used book store, or a book order, the interest often was lost. A thrill runs through me when I can giving a student the right book at the right time--when inspiration and questions and the magic of reading are so close we can touch them. Now that I've been teaching for a decade, I'm constantly updating my classroom library and I'm always making it a place where students can love books and love reading. Thanks for considering this project and making the magic happen.
