So many times students are expected to listen to a lecture from an old text book. My students are 9 and 10 years of age and want new exciting material to read. The author Brian Cleary makes language arts and math fun, with stories that twist and turn. When reading these books students become excited and engaged; they forget that they are learning! Having these books accessible inside the classroom allows them to read them repeatedly, encouraging students to retain information. With these books students can see how language arts and math skills apply to everyday life in a funny way.
