As an inner-city high school in Durham, North Carolina, we have students who face adversity from society every single day. It is imperative that they are recognized for their accomplishments and successes in school to show them that they can beat the trials built against them and achieve whatever goals they may have. Who doesn't enjoy receiving a physical recognition of their accomplishments? Our school would use this button machine and accessories to create pins to distribute to our students who earn A and A/B Honor Roll each quarter. These pins would be a tangible trinket for each student to display to say "Hey! Look at this awesome accomplishment I made! You can do it, too!" This reward will allow our students to also become leaders in their learning environment in that they could encourage their fellow students to follow in their lead and stay focused, finish their work, and be successful as well!
