In first grade, students are just learning how to read. It is important to have books that are interesting and at a students reading level. Doing this allows students to find joy and success in their reading practice. Being in a low-income school, students and teachers are not always equiped with what they need to esure student success. This is why I am requesting reading books for my classroom library. These books will be used in book bags that will go home weekly for students to practice their reading. My goal with this request is to keep my students love for books alive by providing them with stories at their reading level. These books will also help with students fluency, as they would have the books to read throughout and entire week.
