Adding technology to our classroom will greatly benefit my students’ ability to process information and develop their overall language arts and math skills. My students need extra time, larger fonts, visuals and sounds to be engaged and have better chances to learn. Chromebooks will do wonders for my diverse learners because of the countless ways to approach and practice basic concepts and the opportunity to explore new topics in meaningful and authentic manners.
Incorporating Chromebooks into our classroom will help my students work cooperatively and develop their independent skills at the same time!
With Chromebooks my students can practice differentiated lessons designed according to their individual needs, abilities and interests. Using wireless headphones, they will use the hearing sense to increase their sensory opportunity to access new learning. They can follow along stories, e-books, videos or digital articles from sources such as National Geographic, Scholastic News or any research –based site. Having 6 Chromebooks and 6 headphones in the classroom will allow my diverse learners to do research and learn about 6 different topics at the same time. Students can focus on their own topic and work at their own pace which would allow my diverse learners to be more independent learners.
I want them to be life-long independent learners. I want them to grow up to be kind, creative and thankful.
