My project will get actual, physical texts into the hands of my students. I want to help them build their personal libraries in a time when they don't necessarily have access to physical texts due to distance learning. Students and I will use this particular text as a starting point for our conversations about activism.
The best learning occurs through experience. Through this text, and through our conversations and learning surrounding it, students will feel empowered to become activists themselves. This book will help spark conversations about activism and will empower students to create their own activism projects while learning critical skills along the way.
Through the lens of activism, students will build skills that are vital both inside of the English classroom and out in the real world. While I may facilitate, the learning will be directed by students. They will bring their own experience and passion into the classroom, and together we will use that experience and passion to co-create learning that is purposeful and valuable. Help me empower my students to turn their passions into action through activism.
