The students have compiled lists of authors, books and topics that they are passionate about. When students are engaged in the book that they are reading they are growing as readers. Readers need to be reading at their independent levels to grow as a reader. Students will have a choice of books that they want to read that are at their independent reading level. The best way to grow readers is to increase their reading stamina. The goal is for students to grow in the Benchmark reading levels. These books will be used on a daily basis in our classroom. Students have independent reading time daily and are having a hard time finding "good fit books." Good fit books are books on their level and of topics of interest. The students worked together to choose books that they want to read and books that will go along with our PBL projects.
