These materials will offer students a choice on where they would like to sit during reading activities. The materials will be “homelike” and inviting to students. Right now our classroom only has desks, some tables and chairs. We are in need of more inviting options and different areas to learn. Students will be able to sit on a carpet, sit or lay on a comfy pillow, or use a giant sea creature pillow when reading or working. There is a bench where we can store materials when not in use, sit on to read and/or to use as a desk to write on while sitting upon a pillow. Flexible seating options have proven to reach more learners than the typical desks in rows in classrooms. Our classroom is in desperate need of some areas to make our classroom an inviting place to work and learn. This new reading area will meet those needs by giving us a stimulating and dynamic learning environment.
