I have a team of 20-25 highly motivated students who are looking to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition this year. We have reused and repurposed things in the past, but I would like to get them some new materials to work with this year. The students have been working hard this semester to plan for this year's competition. They have worked in teams to brainstorm and design various components of the robot using what they know from years past.
I believe that providing the students with some new materials will allow them to focus more on innovation and less on making old hardware work properly. The students will work throughout January and February to design, prototype, test, and redesign various parts of the robot to prepare for the FIRST Robotics Competition in March. While we don't know the exact challenge yet, I would like to help the students by stocking up on some robot-building basics. This includes some updated motors, some new gear boxes, and some other small essentials.
