Our underprivileged, inner-city students come from homes lacking reading material. Having access to these engaging Scholastic and Time magazines would not only foster their love for reading and learning, but would also provide science and social studies topics for classroom discussion. The students would be able to take the magazines home to practice and share with family members. This would provide excellent opportunities for parents to interact and have conversations with their students about what they are learning in school. The photos and vocabulary would be a huge plus for our students who are acquiring English which make up over half of our classroom population. Please consider this project!
