Students love to make music, but not all like to sing. However, EVERYONE likes to play an instrument! Most of my students take my classes to learn to sing, but some of them are in my class because it is a requirement. There are also students who love music, but because of circumstances they cannot control, were not able to take band or orchestra because the cost of buying or renting an instrument was too much. By putting a ukulele into the hands of all of my students, EVERYONE will get a musical experience they will enjoy while learning to speak the language of music. As an ELL site, many of my students cannot speak English, but learning to play an instrument and learning to sing, they learn a whole new way of communicating, even if they cannot speak English.
