We transition from our seats to our rug several times a day. The current rug in our room is thin, worn, tattered, and old! It really only defines a space on the floor at this point, as it is no more comfortable than sitting on the hard tile floor. When my students are comfortable, they will be able to focus on their learning. Our rug is a favorite gathering place to listen to stories, read our own books, and work in small groups. We would love to have a more welcoming place to gather throughout the day. We are also in need of a new pencil sharpener. Our manual one broke before the school year began, and we have been working our way through several, easy to lose, mini, hand held sharpeners. An electric sharpener will really up our pencil sharpening game!
