Often students see math, as a subject they "have to" do, but not always understand the why behind it. I have often heard the question, "when will I ever use this again?" the best answer I can give them is "in your future career", but unfortunately, other than videos and a few other activities, that can't always be proven to them in the everyday classroom. What if could we could show students, that we do really use math in every career? We all know that everything in our workforce is constantly advancing thanks to technological improvements. So why not the classroom. My students would benefit so much from having hands-on experiences through career research and application of mathematics in real-world scenarios. The goal of this project for my students and me, is to take math beyond the textbook practice, and into the world that they will in fact live in after they leave school.
