My goal is to have every child in my classroom reading on grade-level by the end of kindergarten. I am looking to grow my students as readers. I have a wide variety of readers in my classroom. The books from my project will be used to assist children in small group and individualized instruction in the classroom on their text level. It's important to give children "just right" books in order for these kindergarten students to achieve the foundational skills of reading to be a successful reader. Children begin learning to read in kindergarten and these skills set them up for the rest of their lives.
