We have a great play area at our school, that includes an entire side of the building of wasted space. This project will allow children to create a garden of foods, from veggies, herbs, tubers, etc. In order to value food and where it comes from kids need to explore the process of gardening beyond seeds in a cup on the classroom window. These beds will I hope act as a catalyst for community gardening, cafeteria composting, and outside education. I have already been in contact with presenters from the local university who will help us plan, and waste recovery who will help us compost.
