Third grade is crucial, the scholars go from learning to read, to reading to learn. Unfortunately our school does not have a library or librarian. As a teacher, I feel a sense of obligation. I feel that it is my responsibility to help foster a love for reading . Although I am in my thirteen year of teaching, this is my tenth year teaching third grade and I've watched technology take away one of simple things in life that I enjoyed as a kid and that was the ability to grab a good book and read. I want to share my love of reading with my students, by providing them with high interest books, that they can learn about different people and places around the world. Simple being able to take an adventure through a book. The books we are requesting will be used to help build our classroom library. With your help, I will be able to create a library within my classroom that is inviting to students and filled with high interest book that will inspire them to read and develop a love of reading.
