It's important for students to have strong social and emotional connections. With such young students we can teach them how these connections can be made. With children being raised by singles parents. Having very low income, some having hardly any food. Different culture's its hard for them to social and interact with each other. Which is hard for my young students who live in urban neighborhoods. Sensory is also a big thing. Teaching them their hands are not a weapon to harm peope,but something good and fun then can do. These writing ABC so they can learned and recognize the letters. As well as their names. With these supplies we can teach them the skill they need to have a strong connection with each other. Learned to work together.
