My students will be introduced to the Cup Stacking Challenge. Cup stacking is the ability to stack specially designed cups in various patterns as quickly as possible. In between each learning station in my classroom, the students will be timed while working together as a team.
The Minute to Win It Speed Stacking Challenge will allow my students to compete against each other on a daily basis. I will use these speed stacks in my classroom every day to enhance focus, concentration, problem-solving and quickness. These speed stacks will be a great motivator for my special educations students and will make the learning process fun and exciting.
Studies have shown Cup Stacking increases reading tests scores because it helps students with eye coordination and peripheral vision. My students love competition and these speed stacks will enhance their self-esteem and allow them to compete against themselves and others. I will develop a poster that shows each students time to track their success. The students will be on different teams daily and will be asked to work as a team to develop strategies to increase their individual times. We will work on different cup stacking techniques to keep the game fresh. The students will have the opportunity to compete against the principal and other teachers in the building.
I would love to introduce my students to the incredible game of speed stacking. I hope you can help me achieve my goal! Thank You!
