I believe all students need to feel safe and comfortable in their learning environment. In a world where their daily routines are seemingly in fast forward, students need to have a place of calm where they can go to center themselves and be able to escape through or connect to a good book. The flexible seating options; balance balls, wobble cushions and comfortable chairs and couches I have selected will help create a calming, comforting reading nook in the classroom. I believe being able to give my students seating options will help reach all styles of learning in my classroom. I added a comfortable rug in my request because I don't think my students should have to relax and unwind on a cold, tile classroom floor.
