My students are culturally diverse, gifted 8th grade adolescents in a urban gifted magnet school in Missouri. They are very passionate about learning and articulating what they know in most disciplines, but especially science. These students complete research projects in science and language arts, but are limited to printer capabilities at home. The majority of my students have a computer in the home and can access the Internet, so the students can email me their assignments, then I print out the hard copy. We participate in several hands-on lab experiences on a weekly basis, so photo opportunities arise on a daily basis. The students also participate in pair-share groups, school productions, in-school and out of school experiences that would be enhanced and documented with the digital cameras. My classroom structure is close knit, so everyone looks out for everyone; our motto is, "I am my brother's & sister's keeper". This structure has provided support to all of my students.
