It is extremely important that all my students stay warm while traveling to and from school. All my students either walk to school or take public transportation. Walking or waiting for public transportation can be miserable without the proper winter gear. My students often come to school with very cold hands and ears. That makes it tough for learning when students begin their day feeling uncomfortable. Coming to school warm will help get my students' day off to a good start for a full day of learning. Attendance is low during the winter season. I am asking for basic winter gear including twenty-four hats, twenty-four pairs of mittens/gloves and six coats. Giving my students what they need will greatly improve attendance as well as academics.
