I am asking for food and supplies. New supplies make every student feel better. Students will feel better about their own supplies and not borrowing from the staff everyday. They can take pride in their brand new items that will be kept in a specific place in the classroom to use. It will be their place to go and take these items as needed and save some of the embarrassment of asking the para, teacher, or other students. The requested binders will help the kids organize their backpacks. It’s a terrible thing the bottomless hole of a backpack that “eats” their assignments. The use of dry erase markers will assist heavily in math. Writing out problems so I can easily see where the student is making a mistake and I can easily model examples and use guided practice to assist each student. A full stomach helps concentration. My students can help serve themselves when they come in hungry or need an additional snack in the day. We have 2 microwaves and this hot cup of Mac 'n Cheese will satisfy their hunger. The requested Pop tarts can be quickly grabbed and eaten for breakfast or a snack on the go. My students are always grateful.
