We are in Northern Califonia.A beautiful place but a poor one.All of them are in Middle School.I have 10 SH students ages 13-14,grades 7-8.I have 4 girls and 6 boys.We go to the next room to use their bathroom(we dont have ours). They have multiple/different disabilities(from autism to global developmental delays). They all strive to learn, join the society in school and hope to live a dignified life in the future. They feel that the adults in school want the best for them but recession gets in the way. They have 2 very old computers to use,no internet,no hanging rack for jackets,no stack box to place their backpacks every morning,no LCD ,books are just kept on tiny cabinets on the walls.BUT they are great. All striving to read, write,do math and life skills. One of them can't speak but all the other 9 try to coach and he is uttering STOP and OUT now.One is great in multiplication and she is helping the rest.My other boy is the eldest in the family,he serves as everybody's big brother.
