This laptop will help me reach all of my students who are placed on remote learning due to a multitude of reasons. Having only one computer in the classroom limits my ability to reach students online while addressing students in the classroom. Increasing the technology capabilities of my classroom increases the possibilities of what my students can achieve. Addressing students who are learning remotely will help their engagement and increase their success. Having the second computer will allow me and the students in the classroom to connect as if we were one class. There will be no divide that negatively affects these students who are already feeling left out and segregated. Bringing us all together will improve the discourse, connections, and outcomes set forth with all of the texts that we analyze and learn from. Some of the standards that will be addressed, strengthened, and achieved with the assistance of this extra technology while reading, analyzing, and writing are RL 9.1, RL 9.5, RL 9.9, RI 11.1, RI 11.3. ELA standards spiral, so we really hit on all of them as we work through a text.
