I currently work at a Title I school that serves a large population of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. As a result, many of the students I work with have already been identified as at-risk. Therefore, they have been projected to not graduate from high school and continue on to pursue post-secondary education. I would like assistance to help change the projected outcome of their futures. We are located in close proximity to the city of Houston (Harris County), where Hurricane Harvey made landfall in late August of 2017 and we were also affected. The students were forced to miss over 2 weeks of learning and growing. Along with that, some of my students and their families were directly impacted, losing homes, cars, and many of their prized possessions. It is my goal to provide an educational experiences that will ensure the future success of every student that I teach.
