We would like to create a classroom environment where children can feel safe and comfortable. As we build our community of readers, writers, and thinkers our hope is that the students will begin to feel safe and start to take risks in their learning. Our classroom needs a new rug for community building, morning meeting, and one that has space for everyone. Our current rug is falling apart and does not have enough room for all of my wonderful students. My goal is for these students to feel like they are part of our classroom community where they will always feel safe and nurtured in our calming environment.
