My students are using different learning programs through technology to be able to master their second language. These programs require them to read and solve math problems in English. These programs are differentiated per student. The students need head phones so when they are working individually, they not distracting other students around them. These are essential because the programs read to those students that are struggling in their second language. Most of my students are coming to me below grade level in reading and math. The majority of their instruction is in Spanish up until third grade. These programs are another opportunity to help me transition them smoothly into English.
