The importance and impact of physical environment on student achievement is backed up by scientific research (http://ilabs.washington.edu/sites/default/files/14Cheryan_etal_Meltzoff_Designing%20Classrooms.pdf). This project will help transform our room into a space that my children can learn and grow comfortably, one where they want to be. The rug will provide a new meeting space. The laminator will help preserve their artwork and our posters. The art supplies will enable us to create posters and anchor charts for our space. The lights will provide us with a homey atmosphere. The posters and maps will help anchor our space and create a positive place for them to learn. These are all small items that will have a large impact on their learning.
