Makey Makey is an invention kit that encourages people to find creative ways to interact with their computers, by using everyday objects as a replacement for keyboards and mice. Code-a-pillar encourages experimentation while developing important skills like problem solving, planning and sequencing and critical thinking. Code monkey island is a board game that exposes kids to fundamental programming concepts like control structures, data structures, and math operations. Through the use of the materials, the students will use their critical thinking skills to solve problems. Learning to think like a computer scientist or programmer helps children break down problems, think in logical sequences, and use precise language to give instructions. Computer Science emphasizes that creativity, sequencing, problem solving, collaboration are all skills that transfer to other academic areas.
