We have some great discussions through these novels. For Ghost, we read about trauma and how it affects the main character. Using Restart, we talk about the idea of redemption and the fact that people can change. We discuss themes and character development. Both novels are very current. It gives us an opportunity to talk about personal choices. It gives the kids an understanding of how trauma affects personal choices. Many of the kids come from difficult background and, I believe, they will be able to relate to the actions of the main characters.
