I am requesting a class set of books for my fourth graders. Unfortunately, budget and instructional money is tight, which means book orders are not available. These kids deserve to explore their imagination and escape their hardships with a good book. I choose this book in particular because it deals with finding your identity. For most of my students, not just because of their age but environment, they struggle with who they are and who they want to become, because a lot of times it goes against everything they see at home and in their neighborhood. It takes courage to truly find your identity, and my students show courage everyday by coming to school to learn and better themselves.
