The blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes will help my students learn about the cardiovascular system by allowing them to hear respiration sounds, heart sounds and measure blood pressure. They will use the Blood Pressure Lab to investigate how physical exercise and chemicals, like caffeine, can influence the physiology of the cardiovascular system. The students will use these supplies to learn about cardiovascular diseases and the affects of diet, exercise and lifestyle choices can have on their future lives. Together these two lab supplies will help my students learn about their own bodies and apply their knowledge to healthy living & the future studies in the health industry. My students will use the model of the arm muscles to learn the anatomy of the muscular system and be able to view how muscles are connected to the relative bones, the nerve and blood vessels and joints in the arm. Using physical models and investigative experiments really will help my students take control of their own learning and to help motivate them to tackle challenging tasks and concepts.
