My students are required to complete extensive research and writing projects at least once per quarter. Providing students with increased access to both reliable internet and word processing will help students complete projects more rapidly and with greater ease. The Kindle fires will allow the students to have access to the internet in the classroom. Students often want to conduct research, but there are no computers for them in the building. I will also have a Kindle Fire to model for the students what they will be expected to do in the classroom. Students will also be allowed to use the Kindle Fires as an extension activity when they have completed a task early. They will be allowed to research colleges, practice for the SATs, etc.
