My students will be incorporating art with academics. They will learn about ancient cultures and how art is a major influence. Giving the students hands-on experience shows students how art was manipulated long ago. With these calligraphy brushes, my students will learn about the Chinese culture and how calligraphy played a major role in the culture. Calligraphy and the use of the brush was a major part in Chinese art and history. Students will develop techniques that will help with their small motor skills. They will learn to use the brush and different brush techniques to create their own masterpiece. They will have a better understanding of art and penmanship. My students will learn to use ink and Chinese calligraphy brushes to create an art piece that ties into Chinese culture, for example, writing and landscape paintings.
