Do you remember when you were in school and the Weekly Reader or Time for Kids came? This was always an exciting day when I was in school! I didn't realize at the time how educational they were. I just liked the pictures and stories. I want my students to experience these magazines, too. I would use the funds to purchase Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines for the classroom. These magazines are standards-based and curriculum-connected and would be great tools to support my instruction and raise achievement. As a bonus, these students are grateful and excited to receive anything and they would get to bring these magazines home.
