With these materials, we can create a sensory room/motor lab for our students. This classroom could help struggling students better understand academic content as well as increase their social/emotional learning. With the help of a light table, students will be engaged in activities using sensory materials as well as manipulatives for other basic skills including math and reading. Although students would not be allowed to take the materials home, these items will help build strategies that can be used at home and in all other settings. Students will be excited to visit the space afforded to them including the items on our wish list. Students will have access to small group lessons using the light table. This project will provide a more supportive space students can come to for additional help.
