Woerner Elementary is a neighborhood public school in Saint Louis, Missouri. Almost 50% of Woerner Elementary's students are refugee and immigrant children who come from 11 different countries and speak over 20 different languages. My classroom provides English language instruction in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing for kindergarten and first grade students. In addition to English language instruction, my classroom also offers academic and social-emotional support for our youngest, new Americans.
