I am thankful to have a space where students can move, create and express themselves! I see every student in our school twice a week for dance. Selected 2nd and 3rd graders meet an additional time during the school week as part of a "Dance Club" while selected 4th and 5th graders meet after school as part of the PS 56 "Dance Company." Younger grades creatively explore the framework of Laban Movement Analysis while upper elementary students are introduced to basic dance techniques from hip hop and tap to modern and ballet. Our dance program also has a strong emphasis on connecting content students are learning in their classrooms to movement and dance.
