Many of the students who come to the nurse's office on a daily basis are leaning English. They have only been in this country for a few years, and in addition to feeling ill, they often feel "lost" in a room where they do not understand any of the posters or bulletin board displays. Bilingual posters will enable these students to feel more welcomed and comfortable in my office. Differences in language sometimes creates a barrier but having fun posters they will be able to read and understand the posters will help me provide important health information. This will also encourage conversation between the students and myself, as the posters often are about health related topics. I will also have my younger student create posters for my office. These can then be laminated and hung up around the room. Using the laminator will help ensure that my posters stay in great shape for years to come.
