Hi! I currently work in a third general education classroom that supports ESL and students with IEPs. This is my 10th year teaching! My students are receiving services in their least restrictive environment. I have the support of special educators, OTs, speech pathologists, and other para educators who are in my room daily to help these students access the general education curriculum. We need places around the classroom to work productively with all hands on deck! Small group instruction is important for collaboration and helps provide individual learning opportunities for enrichment and reteaching of concepts. Everyone learns differently. You can be a visual or auditory learner and as a teacher you accommodate your lessons and activities based on how your students learn. With so many children having anxiety, depression, and ADD I believe that this will help making come to school more fun and stimulating!
