Students spend a lot of time gathered together on the ground in my class for mini lessons, group discussions, and class meetings. It is also a great space to lay out and just read a book. I inherited my current carpet but it is old, stained, and too small for bigger students. Because my students are older they are typically over looked when it comes to getting simple things in the classroom such as a nice carpet. They deserve an inviting space just as much as the younger grades. Our classroom library is also sorely lacking complete sets of fantasy book series. Too often a student has come to me excited about finishing a book and eager to pick up the next only to find we do not have one in class or even in our school library. With these complete sets, Students will be able to continue reading as well as encourage their friends to read along with them.
