Chromebooks open many educational doors for students: virtual field trips, STEM projects, Google classroom, research, and on-line text books are all made available to students using Chromebooks. This project will enable our students to experience things they have never had the opportunity to experience. STEM projects would be able to be researched and Project Lead the Way would be able to be used in Science for the 6th graders. 5th and 6th graders are also using an on-line curriculum called STEM Scopes, these programs work more effectively if every student has their own computer. Google classroom is used for student discussion boards, tests,, and essay writing; students need to be able to have the technology to collaborate with their teachers and peers for projects. Part of the state testing for ELA students are required to type their writing response; our students need to have the technology to be prepared to type those responses. Benndale Elementary students would be better prepared for the fast paced, technological world they live in today.
